Neil Nedley, M.D., is a full-time practicing physician in Internal Medicine with emphasis in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Preventive Medicine, Mental Health, and the difficult-to-diagnose patient. He did his undergraduate studies at Andrews University in Michigan.
He graduated from medical school in 1986 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Loma Linda University in California, ranking in the top 10 percent of his class.
He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Kettering Medical Center at Wright State University in Ohio in 1989, and in the same year he became certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and Alpha-Omega-Alpha Honor Medical Society, as well as a number of other health and medical associations.
In 1989 he came to Ardmore, Oklahoma, to practice both acute care Internal Medicine, and Lifestyle and Preventive Medicine with the Ardmore Institute of Health, which operates the Lifestyle Center of America, a live-in Preventive Medicine facility. Dr. Nedley has served as Chairman of the Medicine Department at Mercy Memorial Hospital and Health Center, and President of the Medical Staff.
He currently chairs the Medical Education and Medical Library Committees at Mercy Memorial Health Center, and is a board member of the Ardmore Institute of Health. Dr. Nedley has lectured extensively in the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, and Russia on nutrition, lifestyle, and physical and mental health. He has held numerous nutrition seminars, cooking schools (with his wife, Erica), and depression and stress seminars. He has been a guest on numerous national television programs and radio stations throughout the United States.
He has authored the widely acclaimed comprehensive, yet readable book on the relationship between nutrition, lifestyle, and health entitled Proof Positive: How to Reliably Combat Disease and Achieve Optimal Health through Nutrition and Lifestyle, now in its fourth printing. His latest book, Depression–The Way Out explains his twenty week cure (no dependence on drugs or counseling) that has helped many feel great while achieving optimal mental performance. He is also the speaker and author for Depression Recovery, a community based 8 part mental health education series on video or DVD using a practical workbook approach.
The positive response by thousands of people around the world to these books helped launch Nedley Publishing, an organization that produces health materials based on solid documented scientific research and placed in an interesting and understandable format. Nedley Publishing currently produces books, CD-ROMs, and health presentation materials for the health professional and general public.
Dr. Nedley lives with his wife and four boys in Oklahoma and enjoys reading, running, tennis, classical music, and playing with his boys.
